What Are The Different Types Of Flexographic Printing Presses?

Flexographic printing presses can be divided into the following three types according to the arrangement of the printing parts:

Stacked flexographic printing presses:
Structural features: Independent printing units are stacked up and down, arranged at one or both ends of the main wallboard of the printing press, or various color printing units are installed on the frame. Each printing unit is rotated by a gear installed on the main wallboard.
Application areas: mostly used for printing packaging materials such as PE, PP bags, cellophane, roll paper, etc.
Printing capacity: 1 to 8 colors can be printed, but usually 6 colors. If equipped with a flip device, it can also print on the front and back.
Satellite flexographic printing press:
Structural features: Each printing unit is installed between two wallboards around a common impression cylinder. The printing material is printed around the common impression cylinder for color printing.
Application areas: mostly used for printing easily deformed printing materials, such as PET, BOPP, PVC and other film materials. It is also often used to print color products because the gears are directly driven, the overprinting accuracy is high, and the printing process is stable.
Printing capacity: Four and six colors are common. Multi-color printing can be completed in one pass of the substrate, and the registration accuracy can reach ±0.05mm.
Unit flexographic printing machine:
Structural features: It consists of printing units that are independent and arranged horizontally and driven by a common power shaft. Each pair of printing plates only supports one printing unit, so the unit printing machine can be designed for different roller surfaces.
Application field: It is a relatively mature type of flexographic printing machine, which can print labels, stickers, soft packaging, paper boxes, paper cups, cartons, etc. It is the most used type of flexographic printing machine in my country.
Printing capacity: It can perform single-color and multi-color printing. By changing the delivery route of the printing material or borrowing the flip guide, single-sided and double-sided printing can be achieved. The unit has many workstations and one machine can be used for multiple purposes. It is more suitable for special printed products with small batches, short delivery cycles, and a large number of printing colors.
